Job Summary
The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering technology projects within the banking environment. The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines and budgets, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, and delivering projects aligned with business objectives.
The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and management to ensure successful implementation of banking systems, digital initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and regulatory projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Management
- Manage end-to-end IT project lifecycle from initiation to deployment.
- Develop:
- Project plans
- Scope documents
- Timelines
- Resource plans
- Budget tracking
- Risk management plans
- Monitor project progress and ensure delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
- Manage project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
Banking Project Delivery
Support and manage projects related to:
- Core Banking Systems
- Internet & Mobile Banking
- Payment Systems
- Loan & Financing Platforms
- Credit Card Systems
- Treasury Systems
- AML/KYC Solutions
- Regulatory & Compliance Initiatives
- Data Migration & System Integration
- Digital Banking Transformation
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Coordinate between:
- Business users
- IT development teams
- Infrastructure teams
- QA/testing teams
- Vendors and third parties
- Conduct project meetings, steering committee updates, and status reporting.
- Manage vendor deliverables and ensure SLA compliance.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and issues proactively.
- Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
- Escalate critical issues to management when necessary.
Agile / SDLC Governance
- Ensure adherence to SDLC, Agile, or Waterfall methodologies.
- Facilitate:
- Sprint planning
- Daily stand-ups
- UAT coordination
- Release management
- Track project KPIs and delivery milestones.
Testing & Deployment Support
- Coordinate SIT/UAT activities.
- Ensure successful production deployment and post-go-live support.
- Manage change requests and release schedules.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure projects comply with:
- Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines
- Internal audit requirements
- Security and compliance policies
- Maintain proper project documentation and audit trails.
