About the Role
As an IT Asset Management Specialist Intern, you will support the company's IT asset inventory and reconciliation projects by verifying physical and digital assets, maintaining accurate asset records, and ensuring compliance with asset management processes. This role offers hands-on exposure to IT operations, data management, and cross-functional collaboration with IT, Finance, and HR teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct inventory checks of fixed assets, IT equipment, low-value consumables, software, and software licenses.
- Review employee system accounts and user access permissions, and identify inactive, abnormal, or unnecessary accounts.
- Reconcile physical assets with asset records to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Identify, document, and assist in investigating inventory discrepancies, including missing assets, incorrect records, and location mismatches.
- Organize, clean, compare, and consolidate inventory data, and prepare inventory reports and discrepancy lists.
- Track inventory progress, provide regular updates, and report issues or potential risks.
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, HR, and other stakeholders to support asset management activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Information Technology, Information Management, Data Analytics, or a related field. High-performing university students are encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of IT hardware, office equipment, Windows/macOS, and common office applications or device configuration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to organize, clean, compare, and analyze data.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and analytical, with good communication and execution skills. Able to identify discrepancies and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in office and warehouse environments, willing to undertake short business trips when required by the project, and available for a 3-month internship.
