IT Business Analyst (Wintel Applications)
Position Summary - The Purpose of the Job
The incumbent will serve as an internal consultant, primarily assisting in the application development, implementation, and execution of Wintel projects and application enhancements that align with the corporate IT strategy.
This role executes all Business Analyst duties to manage the Business Owner's service requests. This encompasses Business Requirements (BR) gathering, interface design, documentation, testing, and project coordination based on request prioritization, all while adhering to SDLC processes.
The incumbent is responsible for understanding, gathering, and documenting all the Business Requirements, working alongside the Technical team to produce solid and comprehensive requirements, Test Plans, and other relevant documentation. Additionally, this role acts as the primary
Interface designer, SIT tester, and coordinator for all UAT of assigned service requests/projects. All stages of work must be completed with the appropriate sign-offs and documentation. The incumbent must also proactively connect, collaborate, and maintain communication with business users to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and deliver required work/document deliverables.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Business Requirement Delivery Elicit, assess, and document requirements using various relevant techniques, including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis.
Prepare full Business Requirements documentation that includes technical specifications provided by the related Wintel Technical Team Lead.
Manage business users requirements and expectations.
Perform interface design and execute SIT (System Integration Testing) before the system handover for UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to users.
Coordinate and manage UAT with the business users.
Perform other relevant tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor and/or Head of Department.
Required Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
Education/Work Experience
Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / IT or any related field.
At least 5 years of working experience in the development and maintenance of insurance and related application systems, with active interaction with users and team members.
Good operational knowledge of Family/Generation Operations (presumably referring to Family Takaful/Life Operations).
Experience in Project and Operations Management.
Possess very strong writing and speaking skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex workflows and functionality.
Knowledge/Job Skills
Experience in Project Management, Business Analysis, and/or Business Modelling in small or medium scale projects.
Knowledgeable in System design and development process for business process solutions.
Adequate Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) knowledge.
Familiar with insurance business or financial applications.
Good analytical skills.
Experience in documenting Business Requirements, and able to plan, conduct, and coordinate SIT and UAT.
Soft Skills
Ability to work independently and be highly self-motivated.
Possess strong communication skills with the ability to interchangeably use technical and business jargon to bridge and build a common understanding between the Technical and Business Users.
Possess strong analytical skills to resolve issues.
Must be a team player.
