About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IT Business Partner to oversee and manage IT functions supporting our Upstream business operations. This role will oversee the full spectrum of IT services, digital initiatives, application management, telecommunications, and cybersecurity.
You will play a key role in providing reliable IT services to business operations, driving digital transformation, and ensuring strong IT foundations for both greenfield developments and brownfield asset acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the main focal person for all IT needs of upstream business.
- Actively engage, manage and support business stakeholders.
- Lead all IT and digital operations for upstream sites, ensuring reliable and secure services.
- Oversee and manage infrastructure, applications, and telecommunications systems for upstream business activities.
- Develop and implement the IT roadmap for upstream operations, aligned with corporate digital and technology strategy.
- Work closely with Group IT functions to deliver necessary IT services to upstream business.
- Manage vendors and suppliers, including local service providers, to ensure effective delivery of services.
- Manage and execute IT setup for new (greenfield) operations and oversee IT transition during asset acquisitions or divestments.
- Conduct regular site visits to stay close to business activities and requirements.
- Drive digital projects that enhance operational efficiency and field data visibility.
- Ensure strong cybersecurity governance across IT and OT (Operational Technology) environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 812 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role in Oil & Gas or Energy sector.
- Strong background in IT infrastructure, field communications, and application management, networking, cloud and servers.
- Experience in greenfield IT setups and brownfield transition/integration projects.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity practices and OT/IT integration in oil & gas environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel within Malaysia and the region.
