Position Description
CGI Malaysia is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and oversee critical infrastructure initiatives for a key client in Malaysia. This role is focused on delivering warehouse/logistics/manufacturing infrastructure projects—covering network, security, systems integration and operational technology (OT) readiness—while ensuring tight control of scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk. The role will be based out of CGI/client office in Kuala Lumpur, with occasional travel to the client's warehouse sites in Penang and Shah Alam for site readiness assessments, implementation coordination, cutovers and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will manage multiple concurrent workstreams across sites and vendors, drive governance and stakeholder alignment, and ensure production-ready handover to operations.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Key Projects
- This role will oversee and manage major warehouse/logistics infrastructure initiatives, including (but not limited to):
- New warehouse IT infrastructure implementation (primary focus): network (LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi), security, systems integration, and OT connectivity readiness.
- Warehouse relocation / migration program: infrastructure decommissioning and recommissioning with minimal downtime and business disruption.
- Additional warehouse infrastructure setup: integration with corporate IT systems, identity/security frameworks, and operational resilience requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Governance
- Lead end-to-end planning for infrastructure initiatives (scope, schedule, resources, budget) and maintain RAID and change control.
- Establish project governance, reporting cadence, stakeholder alignment and escalation paths.
- Delivery Execution (Infrastructure Implementation)
- Manage delivery from design through build, deployment, testing and operational handover across network, security, compute and integration workstreams.
- Coordinate site readiness, implementation activities, cutover planning, rollback/contingency, and go-live stabilization.
- Warehouse / Logistics / Manufacturing Site Enablement
- Ensure infrastructure supports warehouse operations (e.g., WMS connectivity, RF/handheld devices, Wi‑Fi coverage, IoT/industrial connectivity) with minimal disruption.
- Align IT/OT requirements and ensure resiliency, availability and operational continuity for site environments.
- Stakeholder, Vendor & Financial Management
- Manage internal and external stakeholders across IT, security, operations, facilities and procurement; provide clear status updates and risk/issue mitigation.
- Lead vendor coordination, delivery management and procurement activities; track costs, forecasts and variances.
- Quality, Compliance & Operational Readiness
- Drive testing and validation (including performance/security checks where applicable) and ensure adherence to enterprise standards/policies.
- Ensure complete documentation (as-built, runbooks) and smooth knowledge transfer to operations; capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Monthly KPI Dashboard
- Performance will be reviewed monthly through a KPI dashboard covering (high-level):
- Schedule performance: milestone completion and critical path adherence.
- Budget control: forecast accuracy and budget variance within agreed tolerance.
- Quality: defect/issue resolution within SLA and production readiness outcomes.
- Risk & issue management: proactive identification, tracking and mitigation effectiveness.
- Stakeholder management: timely reporting cadence and stakeholder satisfaction feedback.
- Documentation & handover: completeness of project documentation and knowledge transfer quality.
- Vendor management: SLA monitoring, vendor performance and escalation effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Minimum 8 years of IT infrastructure project management experience delivering medium-to-large scale programs.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing infrastructure projects in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
- Proven delivery track record across complex stakeholder environments with multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Strong technical understanding of enterprise infrastructure: network (LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi), security controls, server/storage, systems integration and interoperability.
- Familiarity with OT/IT-OT convergence considerations and infrastructure resilience/DR/BCP concepts.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills; able to work independently and drive outcomes on-site.
Preferred Certifications
- Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent.
- ITIL certification (or strong IT service management understanding) is a plus.
- Security-related certifications or experience working closely with cyber security teams is a plus.
Strong Advantage
- Experience with warehouse technologies such as RFID, IoT sensors, automation systems and material handling equipment connectivity.
- Hands-on experience delivering relocation/migration projects with decommissioning and recommissioning activities.
- Knowledge of Southeast Asian regulatory and compliance considerations for infrastructure and data protection.
- Exposure to sustainable/green infrastructure practices and modern network/security architectures.
- Experience in fast-paced, multi-site rollouts with high operational criticality.
Travel & Work Style
- Base office in Kuala Lumpur, with occasional travel to the client's warehouse sites in Penang and Shah Alam as project activities require (site surveys, build oversight, cutovers).
- Flexibility for after-hours or weekend cutovers, testing and critical activities during implementation and migration windows.
