We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager – Applications to lead the delivery of banking application projects across digital, core banking, payments, lending, and regulatory platforms. The successful candidate will manage the full project lifecycle, coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure compliance with banking regulations, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of banking application projects from initiation to production rollout.
- Define project scope, objectives, milestones, budget, and resource plans.
- Manage project schedules using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
- Track project progress and ensure timely resolution of risks and issues.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Business, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Infrastructure, Security, and Vendor teams.
- Facilitate steering committee meetings and provide executive-level status reporting.
- Manage communication across multiple banking departments and external partners.
Banking & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure projects comply with Bank Negara Malaysia guidelines and internal governance standards.
- Coordinate security, audit, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support UAT, compliance testing, and production readiness activities.
Application Management
- Manage implementation and enhancement of banking applications such as Core Banking, Internet/Mobile Banking, Payments, Cards, AML, Treasury, or Lending systems.
- Coordinate with application vendors, system integrators, and internal development teams.
- Oversee SIT, UAT, deployment, and post-implementation support.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Escalate critical issues to management and steering committees.
- Ensure lessons learned and project closure activities are completed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- 5–10+ years of IT project management experience.
- 3+ years in banking or financial services application delivery.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification.
- PRINCE2 certification.
- Certified ScrumMaster or Agile certification.
- Experience with Temenos T24, Finacle, Mambu, Oracle FLEXCUBE, or similar banking platforms.
- Familiarity with BNM regulations, PCI-DSS, AML/CFT, and cybersecurity requirements.
