Scope of Work (SOW)

Project: Retail Next Camera Troubleshooting and Restoration

Objective:

To diagnose, troubleshoot, and restore proper functionality of Retail Next camera systems used for customer traffic analytics, loss prevention, and store monitoring.

1. Scope of Services

A. Site Assessment

  • Review existing Retail Next camera deployment.
  • Verify camera inventory, locations, and mounting conditions.
  • Assess network connectivity and power availability.
  • Review system architecture, including switches, NVRs, and Retail Next platform integration.

B. Camera Troubleshooting

  • Identify cameras that are offline, disconnected, or malfunctioning.
  • Verify camera power status (PoE, power adapters, etc.).
  • Check network communication between cameras and Retail Next servers.
  • Validate camera IP configurations and connectivity.
  • Test camera video streams and image quality.
  • Identify lens obstruction, focus issues, or physical damage.

C. Software & Platform Verification

  • Verify camera registration within the Retail Next platform.
  • Review device health and status alerts.
  • Validate firmware versions and compatibility.
  • Check analytics data transmission and reporting functionality.
  • Troubleshoot synchronization and communication errors. Camera firmware and software updates are commonly included in camera maintenance and repair activities.

D. Network Troubleshooting

  • Verify switch port configurations.
  • Test network cabling and patch connections.
  • Check VLAN assignments and firewall rules.
  • Identify bandwidth or latency issues impacting camera performance.
  • Replace or repair damaged network cables where required.

E. Corrective Actions

  • Reconfigure camera settings as required.
  • Restore network connectivity.
  • Adjust camera positioning and focus.
  • Perform firmware updates.
  • Replace defective connectors or patch cords (if available on-site).
  • Validate camera image quality and coverage after repairs. Camera maintenance practices typically include checking image clarity, camera angles, wiring, and connectivity.

F. System Validation & Testing

  • Confirm all cameras are online and reporting correctly.
  • Verify video feeds and analytics functionality.
  • Perform end-to-end testing from camera to Retail Next dashboard.
  • Confirm data collection and reporting accuracy.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing with store personnel.

2. Deliverables

  • Camera Health Assessment Report.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for identified issues.
  • Corrective Action Log.
  • Updated Camera Inventory List.
  • Network Connectivity Verification Report.
  • Final Functional Test Report.
  • Recommendations for future maintenance and improvements.

3. Exclusions

  • New camera installation.
  • Major network infrastructure upgrades.
  • Electrical work beyond camera power verification.
  • Replacement of cameras, switches, or servers unless separately approved.
  • Third-party software licensing costs.
  • Structural modifications or cabling beyond minor repairs.

4. Assumptions

  • Site access will be provided during business or approved maintenance hours.
  • Existing network credentials and Retail Next administrative access will be available.
  • Store personnel will be available for testing and validation.
  • Replacement hardware, if required, will be client-provided unless otherwise approved.
