Job Description

Location: Dyna (primary), supporting Rooftop Energy
Reports to: CEO (Dyna)
Type: Full-time

Context
You'll be the IT systems owner across two companies: Dyna (Staff across KL and Sabah) and Rooftop Energy (Technology company). Dyna focuses on energy solutions and business operations; Rooftop builds software and hardware products. Different needs, shared infrastructure where it makes sense.

This role combines traditional IT administration with light development work to automate workflows. You'll also temporarily handle facilities technology systems (CCTV, access control, asset tracking).

What you'll own
IT Administration (70%)
Device lifecycle management: procurement, provisioning, maintenance, retirement (MacOS, Windows, mobile devices)
SaaS management: licenses, access control, vendor relationships
User support: onboarding/offboarding, helpdesk, troubleshooting
Network infrastructure: office networks, VPN, connectivity for Sabah office
Security baseline: MFA enforcement, password policies, device security, basic compliance hygiene
IT asset tracking and inventory management
Documentation: systems, processes, runbooks

Automation & Development (20%)
Script and automate IT workflows (user provisioning, access management, reporting)
Build internal tools for IT operations (inventory dashboards, onboarding automation)
Integrate systems where manual work is friction (SSO setup, directory sync, workflow automation)
Technologies: Python/Bash scripting, APIs, no-code/low-code tools where appropriate

Facilities Technology (10%)
Implement and maintain CCTV, access control systems, conference room technology
Network infrastructure supporting facilities systems
Asset tracking platform (for all asset types, not just IT)
Handoff to facilities coordinator within 6-9 months as we hire for this
What success looks like

First 30 days:
Understand current IT infrastructure and user needs
Document existing systems, access controls, vendor relationships
Establish helpdesk process and response time expectations
Identify quick wins for automation

First 90 days:
IT onboarding/offboarding workflow improved and partially automated
Security baseline implemented (MFA, device management, access reviews)
Remote support for Sabah office operational and documented
Asset tracking system operational
Helpdesk running smoothly with documented common issues

First 6 months:
IT operations running reliably with reduced manual work
2-3 key workflows automated (access provisioning, inventory tracking, or reporting)
Facilities technology systems implemented and documented for handoff
Spending <20% of time on reactive support (measure this)

Ongoing:
IT systems reliable, secure, and well-maintained
New employee onboarding streamlined and efficient
Continuous improvement: identify and automate repetitive tasks
Clear documentation enables self-service for common requests
Remote sites in Sabah have equivalent IT support quality

Requirements
Must have:
1-2 years in IT support or systems administration
Hands-on experience with device management (Windows/Mac), user support, and SaaS tools
Basic scripting ability: Python, Bash, PowerShell, or willingness to learn quickly
Comfortable working with APIs and automation tools
Network fundamentals (troubleshooting connectivity, VPN basics)
Security awareness (MFA, password policies, access management)
Strong problem-solving and learning ability

Nice to have:
Experience supporting remote/distributed teams
Built scripts or tools to automate tasks
Exposure to software development environments (dev tools, GitHub, etc.)
Facilities technology experience (CCTV, access control systems)
Familiarity with compliance concepts (ISO 27001, SOC 2)

Critical traits:
Bias toward automation over manual repetition
Quick learner who seeks to understand systems, not just follow procedures
Comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from scratch
Clear communicator (technical and non-technical audiences)
Self-directed and proactive about finding problems to solve
No ego about that's not my job when temporary scope is explicit
Willingness to develop coding/automation skills on the job

What we offer
Opportunity to build IT systems properly from the start (not maintain legacy mess)
Clear scope boundaries (we won't let this role bloat indefinitely)
Room to grow automation and development skills
Exposure across two companies with different technical needs
Direct impact on company operations and efficiency
Learning environment with technical teams at Rooftop Energy

How we work
We value speed with control, systems over heroics
Precision in role definitions and responsibilities matters
We build processes and automation, not dependency on individuals
Direct communication, minimal bureaucracy
We're building organizational capability, not just maintaining IT

Not a fit if
You prefer pure helpdesk work without learning automation/development
You need highly structured corporate IT environments with established processes
You're uncomfortable with temporary scope expansions (facilities tech)
You want to specialize narrowly rather than be a generalist
You expect slow-moving, process-heavy decision-making
