Overview
We are looking for a Japanese-speaking Interpreter in Penang, Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Japanese ⇔ English interpretation between Japanese patients and doctors/medical staff during medical consultations.
- Assist with medical insurance and travel insurance claim procedures.
- Translate medical-related documents (Japanese ⇔ English).
- Perform data entry and general administrative duties.
- Provide interpretation support during police reporting procedures and hospital visits for Japanese customers involved in traffic accidents, when required.
- Carry out other customer support and administrative tasks as assigned.

Mandatory Qualifications
- JLPT N2–N1 or native-level proficiency in Japanese.
- Conversational to business-level English communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Enjoy interacting with and supporting people.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical interpretation, interpretation, translation, customer service, or customer support.
- No prior medical interpretation experience is required. Training will be provided.
