Java Developer

Type: 1YR Renewable Contract

Overview

We are seeking motivated Java Developers (Junior, Experienced, and Senior levels) to join our team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining applications while ensuring high standards of code quality, testing, and performance. Experience in finance, banking, or insurance industries is highly preferred.

Work Experience

Experienced: 26 years of development experience with exposure to both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Solid understanding of testing, code quality, and design.

Senior: 6+ years of development experience with good knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Proven expertise in testing, code quality, and design. First experience as a technical leader is highly valued.

Experience supporting production environments and business users is a strong advantage.

Industry experience in finance, banking, or insurance is preferred.

Academic Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Alternative learning paths (e.g., coding bootcamps) may be considered.

Certifications sch as ITIL are a plus.

Required Technical Skills

Proven hands-on experience as a Java Developer

Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.

Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring and/or Hibernate.

Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Familiarity with version control tools (preferably Git, RTC also acceptable).

Experience with RESTful APIs and web services.

Knowledge of JUnit or similar testing frameworks.

Languages

English: Required.

French: Advantage.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and business stakeholders.

Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
