Java developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance Java applications, including configuration and new feature implementation.
• Monitor, analyze and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring system performance, quality, and stability.
• Investigate root causes of disruptions and recommend preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
• Support automation and improve code quality, with a focus on testing effectiveness and maintainability.
• Stay updated with technology trends to propose enhancements that optimize business operations.
• Develop and maintain documentation, ensuring production support and development lifecycle processes are current and efficient.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in software development using Java.
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Java frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate.
• Proficient in SQL, with experience in databases like Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git (RTC experience also accepted).
• Good knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with JUnit or unit testing frameworks.
• Exposure to production support for business users is an added advantage.
• Experience in Finance/Banking/Insurance industry is preferred.
• Experience as a technical leader in projects is a plus.
