Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our software products through rigorous manual testing, detailed bug reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will play a critical role in the software development life cycle (SDLC), ensuring that every release meets our high standards for functionality, performance, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Planning: Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to create comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Execution: Perform various types of manual testing, including Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects using tools like Jira. Provide clear, reproducible steps and collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • API Testing: Verify backend services and integrations using tools like Postman or Swagger.
  • Database Validation: Execute basic SQL queries to verify data integrity and backend processing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Developers in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure quality is baked in from the start.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date test documentation, including test scripts, execution logs, and summary reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 25 years of experience in manual software testing (Web and/or Mobile applications).
  • Methodology: Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Analytical Thinking: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to think from the end-user's perspective.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Jira (or similar bug tracking tools) and Postman.
  • Technical Basics: Ability to write and execute basic SQL statements for data verification.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex issues clearly.
