The firm's core strength lies in corporate litigation, handling complex matters such as shareholder disputes, corporate fraud, economic torts, breach of fiduciary duties, insolvency, and corporate rescue or restructuring. Beyond corporate disputes, the firm provides advice and advocacy in areas including bankruptcy and winding-up, commercial litigation, criminal defence, debt recovery, general contract and tort matters, industrial relations, land disputes, and probate-related disputes. Role Description The Associate will be a full-time team member based on-site at the firm's office in Petaling Jaya. The role involves assisting in a portfolio of litigation files, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and opinions. The Associate will appear in court for mentions, hearings, trials, and appeals under supervision where appropriate, and will liaise with clients, counsel, and relevant authorities to move matters forward efficiently. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing documents and evidence, analyzing legal issues, advising clients on dispute resolution options, and ensuring timely compliance with court directions and procedural requirements. The Associate will also contribute to internal knowledge sharing, maintain accurate file management, and uphold professional and ethical standards in all aspects of practice.

Qualifications

  • Strong litigation and dispute resolution skills, including case analysis, courtroom advocacy, and familiarity with civil and corporate litigation procedures.
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and writing skills for pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and legal opinions.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail in reviewing documents, evidence, and legal authorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines, work independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate as part of a small, focused team.
  • Recognized law degree and completion of required professional qualifications or pupillage; admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction is preferred.
  • Prior litigation experience, particularly in corporate or commercial disputes, banking, insolvency, or general civil litigation, will be an advantage.
  • Commitment to professional integrity, continuous learning, and building a long-term career in courtroom-based dispute resolution.
