Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Environment Support Engineer (L1) to join the Retail Banking technology team within Digital Banking. The role involves providing environment support, middleware/database troubleshooting, automation, and SSL certification management. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of Windows/Unix operating systems, basic middleware and database administration, and strong troubleshooting skills to ensure system stability and availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide environment support for banking applications running on Windows and Unix OS.
  • Perform middleware administration and troubleshooting on Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic, and IIS servers.
  • Assist with database troubleshooting across Oracle, SQL Server, and MariaDB.
  • Support automation tasks using shell scripting and other tools.
  • Handle SSL certificate deployment, renewal, and configuration.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and database teams to resolve environment-related issues.
  • Perform incident management, monitoring, and preventive maintenance for assigned environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in environment/application support.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Hands-on exposure to middleware technologies (Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic, IIS).
  • Familiarity with Oracle DB, SQL Server, or MariaDB troubleshooting.
  • Basic shell scripting skills for automation.
  • Good understanding of SSL certificate deployment and renewal processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
