Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior QA Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers to help write automated test scripts, execute regression suites, and learn how to build robust test frameworks. Key Responsibilities
- Script Writing: Assist in developing and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and mobile platforms under the guidance of senior team members.
- Test Execution: Run automated and manual test suites for functional, regression, and smoke testing; analyze test output for failures.
- Defect Reporting: Log clear, detailed bug reports in Jira (including steps to reproduce, logs, and screenshots) and follow up through the fix lifecycle.
- Test Case Creation: Translate product requirements and user stories into structured test cases and manual/automated test scenarios.
- Continuous Integration: Help maintain test jobs within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives) and team code reviews.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical Skills:
- Programming Fundamentals: Basic proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#).
- Automation Basics: Hands-on exposure to at least one automation framework or tool (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Postman) via coursework, personal projects, or internships.
- Web Technologies: Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, DOM structures, and HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE).
- Version Control: Knowledge of basic Git workflows (commit, push, pull, branch management).
- Core QA Concepts: Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and bug reporting.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent bootcamp/practical project experience).
- 0–2 years of experience in software testing, QA internships, or personal test automation projects.
Soft Skills:
- High curiosity, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn new tools and techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to ask questions when blocked.
