LAB OFFICER (R&D LABORATORY) - Rubber, Latex and Polymer Testing

A manufacturer of industrial gloves and personal protective equipment is hiring a Lab Officer (R&D Laboratory) for its operations in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan.

Location: Rembau, Negeri Sembilan

Salary: RM2,500–RM3,500, negotiable based on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process compounds and finished products

• Perform chemical analysis, including pH, viscosity, density, purity and particle-size testing

• Test latex colloidal properties such as TSC, MST, viscosity, pH and coagulum

• Conduct physical testing, including tensile strength, elongation, tear strength, hardness, puncture and cut resistance

• Interpret laboratory results, investigate abnormalities and prepare technical reports

• Support laboratory method validation and verification

• Coordinate equipment calibration and preventive maintenance

• Manage laboratory documentation, retention samples, COA verification and non-conformance reports

• Coordinate third-party testing with accredited external laboratories

• Support production trials, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities

• Work closely with the R&D, Production, Quality and Procurement teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Science or a related field

• At least 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in the rubber, latex, polymer, glove or manufacturing industry

• Hands-on experience in testing raw materials, compounds and finished products

• Knowledge of ASTM, ISO and EN/IEC testing standards

• Experience in laboratory method validation, equipment calibration and preventive maintenance

• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical-reporting skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Experience supervising or training laboratory personnel would be an advantage
