Department Overview

Sales Operations Forecast & Planning team is a part of Sales organization and focuses on supporting the sales team primarily with preparing their sales plan/forecast, verifying the results, and managing opportunities. Team works closely with various departments within Motorola to support sales in achieving their orders and sales goals (Sales, Finance, Project, Supply chain, Strategy etc).

Job Description

Based in our Penang hub, the Junior Sales Operations Analyst will be an integral part of the Sales Operations team, providing critical analytical support for both the APAC and EMEA regions.

In this role, you will manage real-time operations for the APAC market while ensuring that all EMEA reporting and backlog management are completed and ready for European stakeholders at the start of their business day.

  • Dual-Region Planning: Support the planning and forecasting teams for both the EMEA and APAC regions.
  • Backlog Management: Regularly verify and clear backlog data across both regions to ensure global data integrity.
  • Reporting & Analytics: -Create and distribute regular backlog report -Prepare actual performance results for regional leadership in both APAC and EMEA.
  • Tools & Development: Maintain and develop reporting tools for Orders, Sales, and other business-critical information.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with the wider Sales Operations organization, providing coverage for team members across regions and managing ad-hoc tasks as required.
  • Strategic Reporting: Prepare ad-hoc reports to assist regional directors in identifying sales trends and operational bottlenecks.

Basic Requirements

  • Education : University degree, preferably in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills (Advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, and data visualization). Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Experience: 1 year of demonstrable experience in a data-driven or analytical environment (experience in a Shared Service Center is a plus).
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work under pressure to meet strict month-end and quarter-end deadlines.
  • A proactive team player who can work independently during the Malaysia morning and coordinate with EMEA colleagues in the late afternoon.
  • Communication: Excellent written and spoken English.
