Job Description

Role Description This full-time Junior / Senior Medical Physicist (Radiotherapy) role is an on-site position based in Petaling Jaya. The role involves performing and optimizing radiotherapy treatment planning, including dose calculations and verification to ensure accurate, safe, and effective treatments. Daily responsibilities include conducting patient-specific and machine-specific quality assurance, monitoring radiation safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. The Medical Physicist collaborates closely with oncologists, radiographers, and other clinical staff, providing technical and clinical support in the use of radiotherapy equipment such as Halcyon and TrueBeam®. The role also includes participation in clinical research, protocol development, equipment commissioning, and ongoing performance evaluations to support continuous improvement in patient care.

Qualifications

  • This position is open to Malaysian citizens only.
  • Strong foundation in Medical Physics and Physics, with the ability to apply theoretical principles to clinical radiotherapy practice.
  • Proficiency in Treatment Planning and Dosimetry, including use of treatment planning systems and accurate dose calculations for a variety of radiotherapy techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Radiation Safety, including regulatory requirements, radiation protection measures, and safe operation of radiotherapy equipment.
  • Relevant academic qualifications, such as a Master's or PhD in Medical Physics; certification or eligibility for certification in medical physics is an advantage.
  • Experience in external beam radiotherapy, equipment commissioning, and quality assurance procedures; familiarity with Halcyon, TrueBeam®, or similar platforms is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to accuracy and detail in clinical workflows.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
