Clicque Technology is a Malaysian technology company developing software solutions for the healthcare industry. Our products support hospitals, laboratories and healthcare organizations in managing critical clinical workflows and medical data.
We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our development team and contribute to the continued development and enhancement of our middleware (LISA), and our Laboratory Information System (LIS).
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior developer who wants to gain hands-on experience building real-world enterprise healthcare software, working with APIs, databases, system integrations and laboratory instruments.
About the Role
As a Junior Software Engineer, you will work closely with our senior developers, technical leads and healthcare-domain teams to develop, maintain and improve our middleware.
You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, including:
- Developing and maintaining backend services and APIs
- Developing and enhancing web-based application features
- Working with relational databases and SQL
- Troubleshooting bugs and production issues
- Integrating LISA with laboratory analysers and external healthcare systems
- Implementing data validation, business logic and workflow requirements
- Writing unit and integration tests
- Participating in code reviews and technical discussions
- Supporting system deployment and troubleshooting
- Optimizing application and database performance
- Maintaining technical documentation
Key Responsibilities
Software Development
- Develop clean, maintainable and scalable software following established coding standards.
- Implement new features based on functional and technical requirements.
- Fix bugs and investigate issues across application, API and database layers.
- Participate in code reviews and improve existing code where appropriate.
- Write and maintain automated tests.
Backend & API Development
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Work with C# / .NET and related technologies.
- Implement business logic and data processing workflows.
- Troubleshoot API performance and integration issues.
Database
- Work with MySQL databases.
- Write and optimize SQL queries.
- Understand database relationships, indexing and transactions.
- Assist with database troubleshooting, migration and performance optimization.
System Integration
LISA integrates with laboratory analysers and other healthcare systems. You will have the opportunity to work with technologies such as:
- HL7
- REST APIs
- JSON
- TCP/IP
- Laboratory analyser interfaces
- Healthcare system integrations
Experience with healthcare interoperability is not required. Training will be provided.
Production Support
- Investigate application and system issues reported by users.
- Analyze logs and troubleshoot software and integration problems.
- Work with senior engineers to resolve production incidents.
- Assist with deployments and system maintenance.
Requirements
Must Have
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
- Basic understanding of software development principles.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language such as C#, Java, JavaScript, Python or similar.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP.
- Familiarity with Git or another version-control system.
- Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and understand complex systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as as part of a development team.
