Your opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Tax Compliance Manager responsible for end-to-end tax compliance, governance, and reporting across multiple entities/ brands within the Shared Service Center (SSC) coverage, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations and Group policies.

This role serves as the subject matter expert for tax, partnering closely with R2R, Statutory Reporting, Finance Business Partners, and Group Tax to manage tax risks, ensure compliant filings, provide technical tax advisory, risk management, and drive process improvement initiatives across the region.

The position reports to the Head of R2R and FP&A, Finance Shared Services, and is part of our dynamic team based in Petaling Jaya

How you will contribute:

1. Tax Compliance & Filing Management

  • Own and manage end-to-end tax compliance processes across assigned countries, including: > Corporate Income Tax (CIT)

> Indirect taxes (VAT/GST/SST)

> Withholding tax (WHT) and other local taxes

  • Review and validate tax computations, returns, and supporting documentation prepared by SSC teams or external advisors
  • Ensure timely submission and payment aligned with statutory deadlines
  • Maintain and monitor a regional tax compliance calendar

2. Tax Advisory & Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted tax advisor to internal stakeholders (R2R, FP&A, Brand Finance, HR, Legal, Operations)
  • Provide technical guidance on:

> Intercompany transactions and recharge structures

> Transfer pricing implications

> Business initiatives, restructuring, and operational changes

  • Translate complex tax regulations into practical business recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to optimize tax treatment and enhance tax efficiency across entities, while ensuring full compliance with local regulations and Group policies.

3. Transfer Pricing (TP) & Intercompany Support

  • Support the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation and disclosures
  • Partner with Group Tax and Finance teams to ensure alignment with Group TP policies
  • Advise on intercompany billing, cost allocation, and service fee structures

4. Tax Risk Management & Governance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigatetax risks and exposures across jurisdictions
  • Ensure robust documentation and audit trail supporting all tax positions
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and proactively assess the impact on business operations
  • Ensure compliance with:

> Group Tax policies

> Internal control frameworks and governance standards

5. Tax Audits & Authority Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities on audits, queries, and inspections
  • Manage tax audits and investigations, including:

> Preparation of responses

> Coordination with external advisors

> Resolution of audit findings

  • Maintain strong relationships with tax authorities and external consultants

6. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with:

> External tax advisors and compliance providers

> Group Tax and regional finance leadership

  • Ensure service providers deliver accurate and timely outputs in line with SLAs
  • Act as an escalation point for complex tax issues across markets

7. Others

  • Coordinate with R2R, P2P, O2C, MDM, Treasury and other functions on cross‑market process alignment.
  • Support transition projects, scope expansions and brand integrations across the region.
  • Be involved in other ad hoc assignments and projects initiated by Kering group.

Who you are

Experience

  • Minimum 8–12 years of tax experience in MNC and/or Big 4
  • Strong experience in multi-country tax compliance (APAC preferred)
  • Experience working in Shared Service Center (SSC) or regional hub is highly desirable
  • Proven track record in managing tax audits and complex tax issues
  • Strong sense of responsibility and detail-oriented

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in:

> Corporate tax

> Indirect tax (VAT/GST/SST/WHT)

> Transfer pricing principles

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Retail industry or consumer products industry is an advantage
  • Experience with tax tools, compliance systems, or data analytics tools is an advantage
