About the Role

The Key Account Manager is expected to work closely with the Associate Director and play a strategic role in identifying and managing high impact opportunities within the assigned portfolio in designated territory to meet / exceed sales targets.

Your ability to shape sales strategies and initiatives to lead the sales process, drive account conversions and develop key relationships will be crucial to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve targets for sales, growth, and market share for assigned portfolio in designated territory
  • Lead strategy development and execute dedicated action plan for assigned accounts, including preparation and negotiation of contracts (i.e. tier bonus, trade promotion, etc.)
  • Analyse market dynamics including competitive intelligence activities on key accounts and key competitors
  • Organize customer events (i.e. round table discussion, plant visits, etc.) and other programs (i.e. patients workshop) independently or with marketing / medical / corporate department in line with KA action plan
  • Champion listing of products in key accounts within designated territory
  • Contribute to mapping of stakeholders, including segmentation and profiling of key accounts / medical experts

About You

  • Must possess a degree in the field of Business / Marketing or any science discipline, an MBA would be considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant sales and / or key accounts management experience, preferably in a multinational pharmaceutical or healthcare company
  • Experience in handling oncology, haematology and / or specialty care therapeutic area is preferred
  • Government tender management experience is added advantage
  • Strong business acumen, with proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Self-driven individual who is customer-focused and results-oriented, seeks continuous improvement and proactively thinks ahead.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Versatile and resilient, ability to stay positive in high-pressure and ambiguous environment and work towards delivering results
  • Willing to travel within Malaysia
