Job Overview
We are hiring a fluent Khmer Interpreter to provide real-time interpretation for medical, emergency (911), and general service calls. The role requires accurate, neutral, and professional interpretation between Khmer and English speakers while handling sensitive and high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities
- Provide consecutive interpretation between Khmer and English via phone or video calls
- Accurately convey meaning, tone, and intent of conversations in real time
- Handle calls across Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business
- Process information quickly, recognize cultural differences, and remain professional and courteous
- Use appropriate industry terminology and follow standard procedures
Qualifications
- Fluent Khmer and B2 level English (CEFR)
- Excellent listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills with high accuracy
- Ability to remain neutral, objective, and calm during sensitive situations
- Strong focus and ability to follow client instructions closely
- Able to explain cultural context when required by the client
- Strong credibility and professional communication skills
- Must be based in Thailand or Malaysia
- Able to work from home permanently and work night shift
