About KPMG In Malaysia's Sustainability Transformation Department

KPMG in Malaysia's Sustainability Transformation practice helps organizations navigate the rapidly evolving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) landscape. We support clients in embedding sustainability at the core of their business strategies.

Our Sustainability Transformation team works with companies across industries to develop ESG roadmaps, strengthen carbon and climate governance, enhance transparency, and accelerate decarbonization. We help clients identify areas of strategic advantage, manage climate risks, elevate sustainability performance, and build the trust of stakeholders through credible reporting and environmental stewardship.

What can you expect

As a Manager in Sustainability Services, you will lead client engagements, guide technical delivery, and contribute to the firm's ESG growth agenda. You will work with senior executives—including sustainability leaders, C-suites, and Board members—to design and execute climate strategies and decarbonization initiatives.

GHG, Carbon Accounting & Decarbonization

  • Provide expert advisory on:
  • Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting (Scopes 1, 2 & 3), Financed emissions, SBTi-aligned target setting, Decarbonization pathways, Internal carbon pricing, Carbon markets and renewable energy markets
  • Guide clients in developing robust climate strategies aligned to global frameworks and best practices.

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Manage and support Project Managers to ensure high-quality, timely delivery across all engagements.
  • Review all deliverables for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with client expectations before submission.
  • Lead senior-level engagements and interviews with clients top management and Boards of Directors.
  • Prepare and deliver project kick-offs, training workshops, technical presentations, and executive briefings.

Client Engagement & Advisory

  • Understand client challenges and propose tailored sustainability solutions.
  • Translate benchmarking, analysis, and research into clear, concise recommendations.
  • Build long-term client relationships and provide ongoing advisory support.

Business Development

  • Meet potential clients, design proposals, and follow opportunities through to contract signing.
  • Develop thought leadership and contribute to strengthening KPMG's ESG market presence.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking purpose-driven sustainability professionals with strong climate and carbon expertise.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Economics, Quantitative Finance, or related fields.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in climate change advisory or environmental consulting.
  • Strong knowledge in:
  • GHG accounting (Scopes 1–3)
  • Financed emissions
  • Net-zero frameworks
  • SBTi methodologies
  • Decarbonization pathways
  • Carbon markets & renewable energy markets
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and demonstrate strong integrity and accountability.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deliver under tight timelines.
