About KPMG In Malaysia's Growth

KPMG in Malaysia's Growth Department encompasses Marketing & Communications (Marcom), Markets, Impact@KPMG and Knowledge Management (KM). This multi-disciplinary division is responsible for driving the firm's brand visibility, market positioning, stakeholder engagement, and strategic research insights.

The department works closely with business leaders across Audit, Tax, Advisory, and Firmwide functions to deliver impactful marketing campaigns, digital strategy, media engagement, thought leadership, market intelligence, and ESG initiatives.

What can you expect

As an intern, you will gain hands-on exposure across different areas of the Growth Department depending on your assigned track. You will work in a highly collaborative environment, supporting real projects with real impact.

Marketing & Communications Track

  • Support integrated marketing campaigns involving ATL, BTL and TTL channels.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing firm events (physical, hybrid, online).
  • Develop media materials, support PR activities, and monitor news coverage.
  • Draft speeches, announcements, internal articles, and social media copy.
  • Produce content for newsletters, email marketing, website pages and campaign materials.
  • Prepare monthly/periodic reports with data insights for management.
  • Support the Head of Department on special projects involving research and coordination.

Knowledge Management (KM) Track

  • Produce market intelligence insights, industry updates and competitive reports.
  • Compile and disseminate market news and analyst reports daily/weekly.
  • Extract, analyze and interpret data of public-listed companies for annual reporting.
  • Support the team in maintaining research tools, platforms, and internal knowledge resources.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental projects driven by the Growth team.

Digital Marketing (Multimedia) Track

  • Assist in producing multimedia content including videos, graphics and animations.
  • Support video shoots, photography sessions, and content creation exercises.
  • Monitor and compile campaign performance data for analysis.
  • Coordinate content scheduling, publishing and cross-channel execution.
  • Conduct research on digital trends, tools and best practices.
  • Prepare marketing visuals, presentation decks, and digital materials.

Impact@KPMG (ESG) Track

  • Support internal engagement initiatives under the People, Planet, Prosperity and Governance (4Ps) pillars.
  • Assist with logistics, paperwork and coordination for ESG programs and events.
  • Conduct research and analysis on sustainability and ESG topics.
  • Develop communication materials using Canva or Adobe tools.
  • Support photo/video shoots, branding tasks, and content curation.
  • Assist in preparing write-ups for internal and external communications.

Who We're Looking For:

General Requirements (Applicable to All Tracks)

  • Undergraduates who have completed at least two (2) years of their degree program.
  • Strong command of English (written and spoken); additional proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft M365 suite.
  • Independent, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working with tight deadlines.
  • Active in extracurricular activities with demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Minimum internship duration: 3 months (Impact@KPMG requires 6 months).

Track-Specific Requirements:

Marketing & Communications

  • Degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, Business Studies, Management or related fields.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.

Knowledge Management

  • Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, Social Science or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities.

Digital Marketing (Multimedia)

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects.
  • Strong creative skills and ability to produce multimedia content.

Impact@KPMG (ESG)

  • Degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance or related fields.
  • Keen interest in ESG and purpose-driven initiatives.
  • Basic skills in Canva or Adobe design tools.
