Landscape Architect

Walrus Design is a medium-sized boutique landscape architecture practice. We are winners of multiple Malaysian and international awards and our projects have been featured in international publications.

We have a position vacancy for someone looking for more delegated project responsibility to increase their skills and gain exposure of running high end projects for premium clients.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Landscape Architect based in our office in Kuala Lumpur. The Landscape Architect will be responsible for leading project teams, managing client relationships, developing creative design solutions, overseeing project implementation, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and meeting quality expectations.

We are looking for a highly motivated team member with the following: 

Skills and Experience

• Lead projects from conceptual design through to detailed documentation and implementation
• Have excellent design flare and strong graphic communication skills
• Proven experience in managing a team to ensure excellence in design
• Strong team player who is also able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
• Highly competent in using a broad range of digital tools and techniques, with experience using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign) and Lumion
• Proficient in the use of all MS Office primary software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams)
• Familiarity with TeamBinder, Ariba and ACC
• Proven track record in a consulting environment working alongside high-profile clients
• Ability to converse with contractors in Mandarin will be an advantage

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Landscape Architecture or similar)
• A minimum of 5 years professional experience in landscape architecture
• ILAM membership (an advantage)
• Landscape Architect license or pursuing licensure
• Excellent design and presentation skills
• Must be living in Malaysia and/or have the proper documents to already be legally living and employed in Malaysia
• Familiarity with local regulations and site analysis techniques is advantageous
