Large Animal Veterinarian

Role Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Examine, diagnose, and treat large animals such as cows and goats.
• Conduct farm visits to assess herd health, disease prevention, and management practices.
• Administer vaccinations, perform surgeries, and provide emergency medical care when required.
• Advise farm owners and clients on proper feeding, breeding, and management practices.
• Collect samples for laboratory testing and interpret diagnostic results.
• Maintain accurate medical and treatment records for all cases.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and veterinary regulations.
• Collaborate with other veterinarians, farm managers, and staff to improve herd productivity and health outcomes.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, and continuous professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Veterinary Council (MVC).
• Valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and travel to farms as required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for animal welfare and preventive healthcare.
