Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

Lead corporate communication strategy and governance, shaping the Commission's brand, reputation, and stakeholder engagement through integrated communication, media relations, and digital platforms to strengthen its credibility, reputation, and brand as a regulatory authority, while ensuring alignment with Commission's objectives and mandates.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Strategise and build the corporate communication framework, Commission's corporate identity standards and SOPs for all communication processes to ensure consistency, compliance and alignment with Commission's objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated communication strategies, including corporate, internal, and digital communications, to strengthen Commission's positioning and engagement.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with government authorities, media, and key stakeholders to advance Commission's interests, agenda and objectives.
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of brand positioning and reputation management, including agency engagements and initiatives that enhance visibility and credibility in the public eye.
  • Oversee media relations and crisis communication, ensuring effective public messaging and organisational resilience in managing reputational risks.6. Ensure quality and consistency of communication content across all platforms, including press materials, publications, governance documents, and digital channels.7. Drive digital and social media strategies to strengthen brand presence, stakeholder engagement, and mitigate reputational risks online.8. Provide strategic communication counsel and messaging support to senior leadership for high-profile engagements and public appearances.
  • Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to evaluate communication effectiveness, including media reach, stakeholder engagement, and digital performance, and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote collaboration and continuous improvement while developing team capabilities to meet evolving competency and industry needs for strategic impact and Commission's growth

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or stakeholder engagement, preferably within a regulatory, financial services, or government linked organisation.
  • Strong understanding of corporate communications principles and frameworks, brand governance, stakeholder engagement strategies, media operations and reputation management.
  • Exhibits exceptional writing and editing skills, stakeholder management, strategic executive advisory, adaptability and agility, fosters collaboration, and business and digital acumen.
  • Familiar with crisis management protocols and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Understanding of PR, advertising, and creative agency operations and contracts.
  • An established network of media contacts and the ability to engage effectively with journalists and editors is desirable.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environments, public policy, and advocacy strategies will be an added advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Corporate Communication Strategy & Governance, Communication Excellence, and Media & Digital Communication Management.
  • A Malaysian citizen.
