Job Description

Job Responsibility

  • Review and understand all EIC-related clauses in the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract. Monitor the EPCC contractors adherence to these terms and conditions and manage any change orders or claims related to the EIC scope.
  • Review and endorse all EIC engineering deliverables submitted by the EPC contractor. This includes drawings (single-line diagrams, P&IDs, etc.), specifications, calculations, and technical reports to ensure they comply with the Employers requirements, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and relevant codes.
  • Ensure that the EPCC contractors design aligns with the projects overall design basis and performance requirements.
  • Work with other discipline leads (mechanical, civil, etc.) to manage interfaces and ensure the EIC systems integrate seamlessly with the rest of the plant.
  • Oversee all on-site EIC construction activities, including cable routing and termination, equipment installation, grounding systems, and control room setup.
  • Monitor the EPCC contractors procurement process for all EIC equipment and materials. Witness and endorse FATs for critical EIC equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, control panels, and DCS/PLC systems, to verify their functionality and compliance before shipment.
  • Track the projects EIC schedule, identifying potential delays and bottlenecks, and work with the PMC to implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Coordinate and participate in the development and review of pre-commissioning, commissioning procedures and commissioning schedule, including IF commissioning with TNB. Witness and approve critical tests to ensure all EIC systems are functioning correctly.
  • Review EPCC Contractors progress report. Provide regular, detailed reports to the Project Director/Employer on the status of the EIC works, including progress, budget, quality, and any critical issues.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with all parties, including the Employers management, the PMC team, the Owners Engineer, and the EPCC contractor, to ensure alignment on project goals and efficient problem-solving.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in electrical/electronic/instrumentation engineering from accredited university.
  • Minimum 8 years working experience:
  • At least 6 years in power/utilities/waste management (or similar industry) and
  • 2 years in management position/leading role, preferably in engineering, technical support, project or construction management.
  • Strong technical expertise and knowledge in power plant and waste management, particularly in electrical, instrumentation and control system.
  • Good knowledge in power and waste management related law, policies, codes and standards.
