Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers across different tech stacks (mobile, web, and backend) to deliver highly scalable and available services and immersive experiences for our users.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders across product, design, analytics, and data science to build and execute the product roadmap, set customer focussed metrics, and robust experiment designs.
  • Lead the quarterly planning and build a smooth execution plan with the team for securing the delivery of product and engineering roadmap, you are the ultimate owner of the successful delivery and rollout of your roadmap.
  • Drive team-wide engineering initiatives by collaborating effectively with senior leaders in the org by employing your mastery of technologies, communicating your ideas effectively, and driving alignment with key stakeholders to create successful outcomes.
  • Set the engineering excellence metrics and targets for the team, consistently raise the bar across testability, availability, security, and code quality for your systems and modules.
  • Attract and retain talent engineering talent, actively mentor and develop engineering talent in the team and across the Bank group

Requirements

  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or have a similar experience with 8+ years engineering experience on mobile or backend technologies and at least 2+ years of management experience of mid-size teams of up to 10 engineers.
  • Significant experience as a successful software development leader in large-scale, highly available Internet and mobile applications. Experience working for a start-up or scale-up is preferred.
  • Experience leading high-impact product teams of engineers and driving large-scale projects in collaboration with product, design, and commercial teams, to succeed.
  • Possess strong communication skills and can communicate complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
  • A cultural role model with a strong sense of humility and empathy coupled a bias for action and a passionate commitment to engineering excellence.
