HIRING: LEAD POWERPLANT ENGINEER
Location: Subang Airport, Selangor
Salary: RM12,000 per month
Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Aviation, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in powerplant engineering and engine workscoping
We are currently sourcing an experienced Lead Powerplant Engineer on behalf of an established aviation engine services organisation based at Subang Airport.
This is a senior engineering role responsible for leading the Powerplant Engineering function, managing engine workscopes, supporting shop induction activities and driving improvements across Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC).
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead manpower planning for the Powerplant Engineering team to support production requirements and engine workscoping activities
• Manage engine workscopes for the shop induction pipeline and ensure effective coordination with production and other cross-functional teams
• Drive team SQDIP/SQDC performance and KPI achievement using structured continuous-improvement principles
• Identify and lead cost-saving initiatives by challenging existing engine workscope practices and analysing historical engine, part and component data
• Conduct and lead engine investigations to determine root causes of engine-related issues and support fleet-management requirements
• Support Safety Action Group initiatives and contribute to the implementation and adherence of Safety Management System (SMS) requirements within the shop
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality and other relevant functions to ensure customer requirements and operational objectives are achieved
• Lead the team in delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost and overall engineering performance
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in powerplant engineering and engine workscoping
• Strong technical knowledge of aircraft engine/propulsion systems, thermodynamics and basic engine-system operation
• Experience managing engine workscopes and supporting engine shop or maintenance operations
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering investigations and root-cause analysis
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, delivery and cost performance within an aviation or engine maintenance environment
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage complex technical projects

• Experience managing team KPIs and driving accountability against established performance targets
• Strong leadership, communication, decision-making and team-building capabilities
• Analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to challenge existing processes and identify improvement opportunities
• Proactive, agile and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced technical environment
• Comfortable communicating critical information clearly and contributing constructively across multiple functions
