Lead, Regulatory Compliance is responsible for driving Cagamas Group of Companies adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices. This position leads the development, implementation and ongoing review of regulatory compliance strategies, conducts risk-based compliance assessments, provides day-to-day guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory matters, and supports Head, Regulatory Compliance in engagement with regulators and in keeping the Group ahead of regulatory change.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
COMPLIANCE
Leads the regulatory compliance function of the Company's operations by:
- Leading the development of a comprehensive regulatory compliance strategy, aligned with the Company's goals and objectives;
- Driving the implementation, maintenance and periodic review of the compliance strategy and associated frameworks;
- Conducting risk-based regulatory compliance reviews and assessments, including under BNM's Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) framework, SC's Guidelines on Technology Risk Management (GTRM), Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) and PDPC requirements, and Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 (CMSA) / Securities Commission requirements, to evaluate compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies;
- Identifying areas of non-compliance and collaborating with relevant departments to implement corrective actions;
- Staying abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to the Cagamas Group of Companies, including AML/CDD obligations;
- Analysing regulatory developments and assessing their impact on the Company's operations;
- Reviewing existing compliance policies and procedures to identify areas for improvement or enhancement;
- Providing training and education to employees on regulatory requirements, compliance policies and procedures;
- Fostering a culture of compliance awareness and accountability throughout the Company;
- Reviewing products, product documentation, and company policies and procedures to assess regulatory compliance risk and make necessary recommendations.
RESEARCH AND REGULATORY ADVICE
- Conducting research on regulatory compliance issues affecting the Company's operations and corporate secretarial matters;
- Providing sound regulatory compliance advice aimed at protecting the interests of the Cagamas Group of Companies;
- Supporting engagement and correspondence with regulators, including BNM, the Securities Commission, and PDPC, on compliance-related matters.
REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION
- Preparing and submitting regulatory filings, reports and documentation as required by regulatory authorities;
- Preparing compliance papers and reports for management and Board-level committees as required;
- Maintaining accurate records of regulatory compliance activities, compliance audit findings and corrective actions taken.
