About the Job
The candidate will be part of the Regional IFRS application development team to build a base IFRS17 sub ledger solution for Great Eastern Life (GEL) Group which will be used by all GEL entities (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia). The candidate is expected to deliver quality work with compliance to our Group IT processes and standards.
- Follow Group IT standard processes/guidelines laid down by internal Group IT Program Office
- Provide good technical solution, develop solutions with considerations on meeting the IT organization's architecture standards
- Review but not limited to requirement documents, design specifications, SIT test plan, technical impact assessment, source code documentation
- Work effectively with peers and vendors to develop, setup and support IFRS17 application and data integration
- Designs/writes/tests programs based on signed off design documents
- Conduct technical session/ clarification with business analyst and sub-system teams prior solution design, coding and unit testing
- Executes and records unit testing
- Guide and coach junior developers in understanding of required specifications and deliver high quality products
- Investigate System Test, support System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Test activities e.g. perform defect analysis, troubleshooting and fixing
- Coordinate and support Performance and Security Testing activities e.g. environment setup and test scope
- Able to self-learn/pick up application setup and support from vendor
- Validate application conformance to specifications
- Provide enhancement and production support after project go live
- Perform technical impact assessment, source code release and deployment checklist
- Coordinate with infrastructure team on deployment and related activities
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
We are looking for people with
- Tertiary education, preferably having Bachelor Degree in Computing or Engineering
- Oracle Certified Professional: Java Developer, PL/SQL Developer
- Accreditation in Aptitude Software (Aptitude Accounting Hub AAH for Insurance, Aptitude Insurance Calculation Engine AICE, Aptitude Allocation Engine AAE)
- At least 10 years working experience in development using PL/SQL, SQL, Java with good working knowledge data models and data flows with strong understanding of dimensional and relational databases, including: stored procedures, constraints, normalization, indexes, and security
- Have more than 2 years of experience in application architecture design
- Have more than 2 years of experience working with Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience designing job orchestration through enterprise workload automation tools such as Autosys
- Working knowledge of web and middleware application server, including OHS, WebLogic, and Apache Tomcat
- Familiar with UNIX & Linux and proficient in Shell Scripting
- Have domain knowledge of financial and insurance reporting will be an advantage
