This Position reports to:

Automation Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

The work model for the role is: Onsite

  • Acting as the single-point technical authority for all telecom-related systems.

  • Performing basic & detail Engineering activities and provide optimized solutions for an entire telecom system for the offshore FPSO/platform project.

  • Coordinating telecom engineering activities with other disciplines - ICSS, electrical, instrumentation and, marine and telecom package / component suppliers.

  • Planning, coordinating, and monitoring engineering activities, including adherence to quality systems and procedures.

  • Resolving key technical and quality issues, provide technical guidance to the engineering team, and manage
    inter-discipline coordination.

  • Interfacing with customers and project managers on key engineering issues, including participation in kick-off
    and review meetings.

  • Reviewing and approving engineering deliverables and participate in design reviews and regular project meetings


Qualifications for the role

  • Experience in developing test strategies and plans, with good understanding of applicable standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong hands-on experience in configuring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks, including firewalls and network security.

  • Knowledge about the offshore standards & requirements.

  • Experience in network and system coverage studies, including wireless networks, PAGA, radio systems, and CCTV capacity/storage calculations.

  • Proven experience in engineering documentation and lifecycle activities, including design specifications, layouts, drawings, system configuration, site surveys, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and project closeout.

  • Strong project coordination and reporting skills with customers and internal management.

  • CCNA/CCNP certification is preferred.
