Your New Role
As the Leasing Manager, you will be responsible for identifying leasing prospects and securing the right retail partners to occupy mall spaces. You will generate new leasing leads, negotiate deals from start to final execution, and prepare weekly leasing activity reports. You will actively analyse market trends to identify potential leading brands, maintain positive tenant relationships, and assist with mall pre‑planning such as tenant mix and M&E coordination.
You will also play a key role in attracting KL‑based and Singapore‑focused tenants into Johor malls to strengthen the premium tenant mix, with a focus on showcasing Johor Bahru's growth potential and convincing new-to-JB brands of the opportunity. The role places no strict KPIs, instead emphasising relationship building, especially with KL market players and premium brand networks.
Candidates will need strong communication and interpersonal skills to entertain, influence, and secure new tenants. Collaboration is key - you will work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth and successful mall openings.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Minimum 5 years of retail leasing experience.
- Minimum Diploma in any discipline.
- A strong existing network of retail, F&B, lifestyle, and brand connections.
- Proven ability to generate leads and close leasing deals.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Proactive, analytical, and able to work independently.
- Open to Malaysian candidates only.
- Willingness to work in Kuala Lumpur or Johor Bahru.
- Hands-on leasing experience and a strong tenant network, with the ability to attract KL and SG-focused premium brands to Johor.
