We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Advisor with corporate experience to manage our legal and compliance matters, with preference given to candidates who have previously worked within the pharmaceutical industry.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To vet, review, draft and advise on corporate agreements, contracts, employment and/or other legally related documents which are to be entered into by the company, including past and present and its subsidiaries, associate companies and/or other investee companies.
- To handle legal enquiries and/or matters diligently as well as to provide qualified legal opinions, advice and/or proposals for resolutions of legal issues.
- Reporting to the Head of Department to ensure legal and compliance matters are integrated into the overall organization strategy, operations, compliance, and corporate businesses.
- To attend relevant legal and compliance meetings and to assist the Head of Department on instructed matters as and whenever necessary.
- To provide legal advice and/or support to the Company's other business units in legal, compliance, operational and/or contractual matters.
- To conduct proper legal research and to keep abreast with development and updates on all relevant ABAC, AMLA, PDPA rules and regulations, full compliance with Bursa listing requirements, including announcements, queries and justifications of the Company to Bursa whenever necessary, with its subsidiaries, associate companies and/or investee companies.
- To liaise and assist the Head of Department in liaising with professional advisors and/or external legal counsels for legal matters related to the Company and/or its subsidiaries and/or associate companies.
- Any other applicable tasks as assigned by the Head of Department across the group of companies.
Job Requirements
- Candidate shall possess a minimum of a recognized Bachelor's of Law Degree and/or Master of Law Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience as a legal counsel (currently practicing as Advocates & Solicitors or non-practicing lawyer) or serving as Senior Legal Associate/Executive in other Public Listed Companies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and present complex legal issues and explanations to other non-legal stakeholders.
- Possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous with common sense, discipline and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Candidate(s) that are well-versed and familiar with Bursa Listing's requirements & regulations, and the capital market shall have an added advantage.
