We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented
Legal Assistant to provide both legal and administrative support to the business. This role will support day-to-day legal operations, including document management, legal administration, intellectual property (IP) support, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel.
The ideal candidate should be proactive, dependable, and comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies.
- Maintain and organise legal records, including NDA, agreements, trademark certificates, registrations, and other corporate legal documents for easy retrieval.
- Handle the registration, monitoring, and management of trademarks, including trademark filings, renewals, record maintenance, and coordination with external counsel.
- Liaising with external lawyers and internal departments to follow up on registrations, filings, renewals, document execution, signatures and other legal or compliance-related matters until completion.
- Track deadlines, follow up on outstanding matters, and provide general administrative support to the legal function.
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices to support the legal team's work on contracts, IP, and copyright matters.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Law, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
- Preferably 1–2 years of experience in a legal assistant, legal administrator, paralegal, or similar support role.
- Basic knowledge or exposure to Intellectual Property (IP) matters, especially trademarks, is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent follow-up and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Location : Midvalley, Kuala Lumpur
Working Hour : Monday to Friday 9.00am to 6.00pm
