Rastam Singa & Co. (KLANG BRANCH) is seeking a motivated and dedicated Legal Associate to join our Civil Litigation team. This role is ideal for a lawyer with approximately 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE) who is looking to further develop their litigation practice in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be entrusted with managing litigation matters, appearing in court, and working closely with partners and clients to deliver practical and effective legal solutions.
Responsibilities
- Handle a broad range of civil litigation matters from commencement through to disposal.
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions, cause papers, legal opinions, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and provide practical legal advice to clients.
- Attend court proceedings, case managements, hearings, and trials.
- Liaise with clients, counsel and courts,
- Manage files efficiently and ensure compliance with court timelines and procedural requirements.
- Assist partners with complex litigation matters and other related legal work as required.
Qualifications
- Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
- Preferably 2 years post-qualification experience (2 PQE) in civil litigation.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and legal research skills.
- Good advocacy and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, responsible, and committed to delivering high-quality legal services.
