About the Role
We are looking to hire a Junior Associate with 1–3 years PQE to join our Technology Practice Group.
The role will focus on a broad range of technology-related legal work, including fintech, personal data protection, technology, media and telecommunications, intellectual property, digital assets, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and technology transactions.

Legal Associate (Fintech, Personal Data Protection, TMT, Intellectual Property)
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of matters, including:
- Assisting with legal research, advisory work and regulatory analysis in relation to fintech, digital assets, data protection, TMT, IP and technology-related laws.
- Supporting the team in the drafting and review of technology-related contracts, including technology services agreements, software agreements, platform terms, licensing agreements, outsourcing arrangements, collaboration agreements and data processing agreements.
- Assisting with personal data protection compliance projects, including privacy notices, data protection policies, gap analysis reports, data breach response and regulatory notifications.
- Supporting fintech and regulatory matters involving financial technology, digital assets, payments, lending, blockchain, tokenisation and other emerging technology models.
- Assisting in client meetings, regulatory engagements, legal opinions, proposals, articles and other thought leadership initiatives.
- Managing workstreams with attention to detail, strong follow-up and a high sense of ownership.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- 1–3 years post-qualification experience, preferably with exposure to corporate, commercial, technology, fintech, IP, data protection or regulatory work.
- A law degree from a reputable university, ideally with at least a Second Upper / 2:1 or equivalent academic result.
- Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- A genuine interest in technology, fintech, personal data protection, TMT and IP.
- Strong work ethic, resilience and willingness to work extremely hard.
- High sense of responsibility, ownership and accountability.
- Good attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work well in a team.

The right candidate should be intellectually curious, commercially minded, disciplined and prepared to take ownership of his or her work. Prior experience in fintech, personal data protection, TMT or IP would be helpful, but the most important qualities are strong fundamentals, good attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to work hard consistently.
