About the Role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Legal Clerk with strong legal drafting capabilities to support our U.S.-based legal operations team. This role functions similarly to a Legal Drafting Specialist, focusing heavily on the preparation, review, formatting, and accuracy of legal documents across multiple jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate has excellent written English, strong document-drafting experience, and the ability to work efficiently under U.S. timelines. Prior exposure to litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, corporate, or conveyancing documentation will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Drafting & Document Preparation (Primary Scope Heavy Drafting)
- Draft, proofread, and format complex legal documents including motions, notices, affidavits, correspondence, declarations, and filing templates.
- Prepare jurisdiction-specific legal forms with high accuracy and compliance.
- Translate legal instructions, attorney markup, or case updates into clean, error-free drafts.
- Maintain consistent document structure, tone, and compliance standards.
- Ensure all documents meet U.S. court formatting rules (training provided).
1. Case File Support & Data Management
- Organize supporting documents and ensure accuracy of case information in various legal systems.
- Review case updates and translate required actions into accurate legal drafts.
- Upload, update, and maintain case records and tracking sheets in assigned systems.
2. Workflow Management & Quality Control
- Perform high-accuracy QC on drafted documents before submission.
- Flag any discrepancies, incomplete information, or procedural issues.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure data integrity across all deliverables.
4. Communication & Collaboration
- Liaise effectively with U.S. attorneys, paralegals, and supervisors during night-shift windows.
- Interpret instructions received via email, case notes, task queues, or direct requests.
- Provide timely updates on workload, drafts, and pending items.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory
- Strong experience in legal drafting (minimum 23 years preferred).
- Excellent written English with the ability to draft professional legal correspondence.
- Experience as a Legal Secretary, Paralegal, Legal Executive, Documentation Specialist, or similar.
- High attention to detail, strong grammar skills, and ability to follow templates.
- Ability to work full night shift (U.S. time zone alignment).
- Comfortable navigating multiple case systems and document platforms (training provided).
Preferred
- Experience in litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, conveyancing, or corporate drafting.
- Familiarity with legal formatting rules (line spacing, citations, page formatting, exhibits).
- Exposure to U.S. legal processes (advantage but not required).
