Legal Counsel

We are the pulse of Asian football. Our mission is to spearhead the growth of the world's most popular sport across the continent. We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Legal team.

Role Overview

This is a collaborative role within the Legal Department, working closely with Senior Legal Counsel. The incumbent will support the management of corporate and commercial legal matters and intellectual property, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and governance standards. This role reports to the Head of Unit / Deputy Legal Director, as well as the General Counsel & Director of Legal Affairs. Responsibilities: -

The Legal Counsel's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Drafting and negotiating various types of commercial and corporate agreements.
• Advising on intellectual property (IP) matters including the protection, licensing and commercialization of IP rights.
• Providing legal advice on commercial agreements and event-related documents (including rules and regulations and bidding/hosting documents)
• Providing regulatory and compliance advice regarding commercial and corporate matters.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

• Qualified lawyer with at least 4 years of relevant commercial legal experience in an international organization and/or law firm.
• Experience within the sports and media industry is an asset.
• Demonstrable understanding of IP law.
• Excellent English communication skills both written and oral, organizational and management skills.
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and related software.
• This position requires a high degree of professionalism and an ability to interact with a variety of entities and individuals
• The Legal Counsel must be credible and reliable, inspiring confidence and trust.
• Working knowledge of global football in a commercial and governance context, with a genuine passion for working in the sports industry.
