KONE Malaysia is looking for a commercially minded legal professional to join its dynamic Legal Function, supporting complex and high-impact matters across the business. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with regional and global stakeholders while providing strategic legal and risk advisory support on a broad range of commercial and operational issues.

What will you be doing
- Provide legal advice and support to the organisation on a broad range of legal and commercial matters as required.
- Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts and commercial documentation.
- Draft, develop and implement contract templates and related processes.
- Develops, implements and updates relevant legal policies and guidelines.
- Manage and support the resolution of legal disputes and claims, including liaising with external counsel, advisors and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensures that shareholders meetings, board meetings and related filings and documentation are timely done in compliance with applicable laws and reported under the KONE Company Files policy.
- Depending on the jurisdiction and matter in question, represents the company before judicial tribunals, governmental agencies and in dispute resolution proceedings.
- Proactively identify and mitigate legal and contractual risks to minimise potential disputes and issues.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across KONE to share best practices and support evolving business needs.
- Collaborates with business stakeholders to achieve commercial objectives while managing legal and contractual risk appropriately.
- Conduct training and provide guidance on legal and compliance matters relevant to the business.
Are you the one
- Good understanding of the law, contracts and commercial practices as relevant for KONE's business operation
- Critical thinking and good problem-solving abilities
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to provide practical and commercially minded advice.
- 3-8 years of legal experience with a multinational corporation and/or reputable law firm. Candidates without such experience but who demonstrate strong potential may also be considered.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commercially minded with sound judgment, integrity, and a continuous-improvement approach.
- Culturally adaptable with high emotional intelligence in global working environments.
- Able to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders.
- Experience working in fast-paced, globally dispersed and cross-functional environments, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Proactive and self-driven, with strong judgment and the ability to navigate multiple demands with minimal supervision.
- Experience in CIPAA adjudication, construction disputes, contract administration, and infrastructure or engineering-related matters would be an added advantage
- Admission to the Malaysian Bar is preferred.
- Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken. Proficiency in additional languages would be an advantage.
