Key responsibilities of the Legal Counsel Senior Specialist include:
- Legal Advice and Support: Provide comprehensive legal advice to various departments within the organization, including but not limited to, contractual matters, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to safeguard the organization's interests.
- Compliance: Ensure the company's operations and policies are in compliance with local and international laws and regulations, as well as comply with company various policies and rules.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to minimize or mitigate them effectively.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes, including liaising with internal claim team and external counsel when necessary.
- Regulatory Affairs: Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may impact the organization and advise on necessary actions.
- Corporate Governance: Assist in company M&A project, maintaining corporate records, drafting resolutions, and ensuring proper corporate governance practices are followed.
- Training and Development: Provide legal training and updates to staff on relevant legal issues and developments.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on legal matters for senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications, experience, and skills required for this role include:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in law (LL. B) from a recognized institution; a master's degree (LL.M) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Legal Counsel, preferably with multinational corporations or law firms.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Malay and English, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Thai legal system, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey legal concepts clearly and concisely.
