POSITION PURPOSE
We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Executive to handle all corporate legal and compliance matters for our company. This role is responsible for end-to-end review of procurement and sales contracts, managing all HR legal matters, overseeing company compliance practices, and resolving day-to-day operational legal issues. The candidate shall be well-versed in Malaysian local laws, able to conduct independent legal risk assessment, and deliver practical legal advice to ensure smooth and compliant business operations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Commercial Contract Review & Management
Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and amending all corporate commercial agreements, including procurement and sales contracts. Evaluate legal risks in contract terms such as payment terms, delivery obligations, liability clauses, dispute resolution and indemnity provisions. Ensure all contractual documents comply with Malaysian Contract Act, relevant commercial laws and company internal policies. Standardize contract templates, monitor contract execution progress, identify potential disputes, and provide actionable risk mitigation recommendations.
2. HR Legal Affairs Management
Handle end-to-end HR legal matters including review of employment documents, full employee lifecycle legal support and labor dispute resolution to ensure company's compliance with the Malaysian Employment Act and local labor regulations.
3. Daily Corporate Legal Support
Provide ongoing legal advisory support to all internal departments for daily operational legal queries. Monitor regulatory updates for Malaysian commercial and labour laws. Conduct internal legal briefings and risk awareness training. Assist in negotiation and settlement of minor commercial disputes, maintain legal records, and support overall corporate risk management.
4. Compliance Management
Oversee corporate compliance management in accordance with both Malaysian statutory requirements and Amsted Group compliance guidelines. Conduct periodic internal compliance checks and operational audits across daily business activities including procurement, sales and human resource management. Identify compliance gaps, propose corrective actions, update internal policies to align with group standards and local regulations, monitor legal policy updates, deliver internal compliance training, and ensure full adherence to group compliance framework and Malaysian statutory obligations.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
1. Educational Background
Bachelor's degree or above in Law, with systematic professional learning and solid theoretical knowledge of Malaysian local laws.
2. Work Experience
3–5 years of full-time legal working experience in Malaysia. Candidates with experience in corporate commercial legal affairs, procurement and sales contract review or enterprise HR legal management are highly preferred.
