JOB SUMMARY
As a Legal Compliance Officer, you are responsible for supporting the implementation and progressive enhancement of EPF's legal compliance framework to ensure all EPF activities are executed in compliance with all laws locally and internationally, regulations and guidelines applicable. You will assist in developing legal compliance frameworks, conducting compliance monitoring and assessments, providing legal compliance advisory support to management. The role also involves preparing reports, maintaining compliance records, and assisting in awareness initiatives to promote a strong legal compliance culture across EPF.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1) Strategy & Planning
- Prepare, maintain and update legal compliance strategy, framework, and policies to ensure adherence to all applicable laws in Malaysia and abroad, regulations and guidelines issued by relevant regulatory authorities.
- Prepare and coordinate legal compliance activities/programmes and prioritization of risk areas.
- Conduct research, identify legal compliance gaps and prepare legal compliance advise/reports on emerging compliance risks, regulatory developments, and assess their impact on EPF.
- Monitor and track the progress of the compliance initiatives to ensure alignment with the annual plan/programmes.
- Maintain and update compliance records and register.
2) Monitoring & Assessment
- Monitor the regulatory websites and portals to ensure timely identification of new or amended laws and guidelines impacting EPF's operations.
- Conduct legal compliance monitoring and assessments to ensure departmental adherence to all applicable laws in Malaysia and abroad, regulations and guidelines issued by the relevant regulatory authorities.
- Identify and document legal compliance gaps as well as follow up with departments to ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented periodically.
- Prepare reports and documentations for management and internal stakeholders on legal compliance performance, risks, and key issues.
- Assist in researching and implementing the use of technology and digital tools, including the development and oversight of executive dashboards in order to provide timely and accurate compliance updates to the management, such as Dashboard Reporting.
3) Training & Awareness
- Planning and coordinating compliance training programmes for EPF employees.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance legal compliance knowledge and reinforce a culture of legal compliance across the organisation.
- Support the preparation of training materials, presentations, and communications to promote awareness of regulatory requirements and legal compliance internal policies.
- Maintain records of training attendance and awareness initiatives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Malaysian citizen
- Obtain at least a credit in Malay Language and English including oral test at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent as recognized by the Government
- Possess a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LLB) or equivalent legal qualifications from any local or overseas higher learning institutions recognised by the Government of Malaysia.
- Certification or qualification in compliance, risk, and governance is preferred.
- Have at least 4 to 7 years of experience in legal, compliance, risk management governance, audit or related function.
- Familiar with compliance standards, regulatory adherence requirements, and governance principles.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, particularly in preparing reports and compliance documentation.
- Highly motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
