We are looking for School Librarian!
School: Aspiration International Secondary School, TTDI
Location: TTDI, Kuala Lumpur
Job Details:
- Handling full spectrum of school library management - organising the library, ensuring its effective use by classes, groups and individuals.
- Responsible in cataloguing and processing new materials.
- Responsible for all circulation desk activities – check in/out, reservation, renewal, overdue notice, withdrawal etc.
- Maintain library records and shelving system and ensure it is updated.
- Perform regular audits of the information and inventory on file – annual stocktaking.
- Educate students and teachers on how to search information using the library databases, online database, etc.
- Disseminate information on new arrivals, information literacy knowledge etc.
- Organize and host book sales, author signings, and other reading events.
- Clarify the use of library amenities and provide information about library policies.
- To maintain a good knowledge and understanding of current and fiction and non-fiction materials.
- To ensure that the library is clean, tidy and in good repair at all times.
- Provide a good customer service in handling enquiries about library materials, searching information etc.
- Instill and promote a love of reading and learning.
- To perform any other task/job by superior from time to time.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Qualification in Information and Resource Centre Management, Library Management or any related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Have experience in using library management system.
- Good knowledge in information literacy skills.
- Experience within an International School environment would be an advantage.
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential.
