Position Title: Linux Network & Security Infrastructure Engineer

Experience: 3– 6+ years

Location: Malaysia 

Employment Type: 1-2 years contract with ATS ( Based on performance Might be permanent)

Job Summary

We are looking for a Linux Network & Security Infrastructure Engineer to build, secure, and operate next-generation Linux systems and network environments. You will combine declarative/immutable OS administration (NixOS/RHEL/Guix) with advanced stateful firewalling (nftables, Cisco/Forti/Palo Alto), cloud-native networking (Cilium), and threat detection (Suricata, Zeek) to maintain robust network zoning and defense-in-depth infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Immutable OS & Linux Engineering: Build, automate, and manage declarative, reproducible Linux systems using NixOS, Guix, or immutable RHEL environments.

Firewalling & Network Zoning: Implement stateful packet filtering, NAT, and network zoning using nftables alongside enterprise firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point).

Network Infrastructure & L2/L3: Deploy and troubleshoot Routing & Switching (L2/L3, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, TAP/SPAN configurations).

NIDS & Network Security: Deploy, tune, and maintain Suricata rule sets and Zeek network analysis tools for real-time monitoring and threat hunting.

Cloud-Native Networking: Implement and manage container networking, eBPF policy enforcement, and observability using Cilium.

Key Requirements

Experience: 3–6 years in Linux Systems, Network Security, or Infrastructure Engineering.

Linux & Immutable OS: Strong Linux internals; hands-on experience with NixOS, Nix Flakes, Guix, or immutable distributions.

Firewall & Security Stack: Proficient in nftables, enterprise firewalls (Fortigate/Palo Alto/Cisco), network zoning, and stateful inspection.

NIDS & Observability: Hands-on experience operating Zeek and Suricata.

Advanced Networking: Solid understanding of L2/L3 Routing & Switching and Cilium (eBPF).
