Logistics and Warehouse Operations Manager
BMW Parts Distribution Centre, Senai, Johor, Malaysia
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Logistics and Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee and drive the performance of our Regional Asia Pacific warehouses. You will be responsible for efficient inbound and outbound logistics processes, ensuring compliance regulations, and continuous improvement initiatives within our supply chain operations out of our Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Johor Bahru.
What awaits you
- Manage cross-country logistics operations and ensure timely and qualitative supply to our dealers and importers.
- Oversee and drive 3PL warehouse partners to consistently achieve set KPI targets for outbound packing/loading (incl. dangerous goods shipments) and inbound receiving/binning processes, utilizing SAP R3 (ERP/eWM) and Business Data Systems.
- Manage and monitor Transport Service Providers to meet inbound and outbound KPI requirements effectively.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse operational processes (inbound and outbound).
- Maintain accuracy in SAP ERP freight data and freight cost management.
- Ensure full compliance with local authority requirements for import and export operations.
- Coordinate and steer warehouse and transport service providers for inbound and outbound logistics activities to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to meet customer expectations.
- Guide 3PL warehouse partners on location optimization, quality assurance activities and stock accuracy measures.
- Verify billing from 3PL and service providers in accordance with agreed contractual terms.
- Maintain regular communication to all attached warehouses and local Aftersales Operations.
- Together with regional Centre of Competence (CoC), streamline and harmonize the processes of all involved warehouses, identify, define and support the implementation of digital solutions (e.g. Robotic Process Automation, AI Agent Models, Power Apps) to increase process efficiency.
- Together with CoC, support the development and implementation of a streamlined, regionwide Logistics Operation (involves several markets in Asia Pacific and beyond) to reduce task redundancies and create a more efficient cost base.
- Maintain close communication and collaboration with the Central Distribution Centre (CDC) to ensure seamless operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in parts delivery and supply chain processes from CDC through PDC to markets and customers.
- Monitor, interpret, and ensure ongoing compliance with evolving import/export regulations specific to each market.
What should you bring along
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field; equivalent qualifications considered.
- Minimum 10 years experience in logistics and warehouse operations management.
- Proficiency in English is required; German, Chinese, and/or Bahasa Malaysia skills are a plus.
- International experience and cultural adaptability preferred.
- Strong technical skills in Warehouse Management Systems, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
- Proven leadership in managing diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with assertive, structured, analytical, and culturally open leadership.
