Responsibilities
Responsible for end-to-end
Malaysia inbound and outbound customs clearance operations, ensuring full compliance with
RMCD regulations, and managing
Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) operational execution to support efficient and compliant cross-border logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Customs Operations
- Manage import and export clearance processes (MY inbound & outbound)
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of customs declarations via SMK/DagangNet
- Coordinate with brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal teams
- Monitor clearance status and resolve customs queries, inspections, and delays
- Compliance & Regulatory Control
- Ensure compliance with RMCD, STA, tariff classification, valuation, and COO requirements
- Validate shipping and customs documentation accuracy
- Maintain audit-ready records and proper documentation control
- Liaise with Customs authorities for operational and compliance matters
- AEO Operations Management
- Execute day-to-day AEO operational controls including documentation, security, and process compliance
- Ensure adherence to AEO requirements (e.g., traceable, non-transferable token usage)
- Maintain AEO certification readiness and support audits
- Ensure sustained AEO benefits (e.g., fast clearance, reduced inspection)
- Audit & Risk Management
- Support RMCD and AEO audits, including documentation and evidence preparation
- Perform compliance self-assessment and drive corrective actions
- Monitor risks and ensure timely issue resolution
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Manage brokers and logistics service providers to ensure compliance and performance
- Work closely with internal teams and Global functions (Logistics / Tax)
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive process improvements to reduce clearance lead time, cost, and compliance risk
- Support system and process automation initiatives
Qualifications
Key Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- 5+ years experience in customs clearance / trade compliance
- Strong knowledge of RMCD regulations and import/export processes
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of customs systems (e.g., DagangNet, SMK)
- Strong compliance mindset and attention to detail
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills
- Problem-solving and escalation management capability
Preferred
- Experience in AEO-certified environment
- Exposure to multi-country trade compliance
- Familiarity with export control and tariff management
