Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Executive (Import Operations) to manage and coordinate import shipping operations in Malaysia. The role is responsible for handling import documentation, coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of shipments.
Job Description
- Manage daily import logistics operations, including shipment planning, tracking, and delivery coordination.
- Prepare and verify import shipping documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs-related documents.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents, and internal departments to ensure smooth shipment processes.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates on delivery status to relevant stakeholders.
- Handle import clearance processes, including customs documentation and permit follow-ups.
- Follow up on VTA certification, import approvals, and other regulatory requirements when required.
- Liaise with warehouse teams, runners, and logistics partners to ensure timely receiving of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of import transactions, shipment documents, and logistics reports.
- Support cost tracking and ensure logistics activities comply with company procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve import processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in import logistics, shipping, or supply chain operations.
- Good understanding of import procedures, customs clearance, and shipping documentation.
- Familiar with Incoterms and international freight processes.
- Experience dealing with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs agents.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple shipments.
- Good communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to work independently, proactive, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Proficient in Chinese (spoken and written) is an advantage to liaise with Chinese-speaking suppliers/customers.
