Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end logistics, warehouse, and inventory operations to ensure timely material flow, production continuity, and cost-effective distribution. This role oversees inbound and outbound logistics, customs coordination, warehouse efficiency, and inventory accuracy while driving continuous improvement across logistics processes in a manufacturing environment.
Job Descriptions:
(1) Logistics & Transportation
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics including delivery scheduling, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Coordinate local and international logistics, including freight forwarders, customs clearance, and import/export documentation.
- Optimize logistics lead time and transportation costs while ensuring safe and timely delivery of materials and products.
(2) Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee warehouse operations including material handling, storage, layout planning, and space utilization.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock; ensure accuracy of stock records.
- Implement and improve warehouse SOPs, inventory controls, and tracking systems.
- Lead cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities.
(3) Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, QA, and Finance to ensure material availability and operational alignment.
- Support new project launches, engineering changes, and NPI activities from a logistics readiness perspective.
(4) Cost Control & Continuous Improvement
- Drive logistics cost reduction initiatives and efficiency improvements.
- Monitor logistics KPIs (delivery performance, inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity).
- Lead process improvement projects to strengthen supply chain execution.
(5) Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure logistics operations comply with company policies and statutory requirements (customs, SST, etc.).
- Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, inventory status, and warehouse operations.
(6) People Management
- Manage, coach, and develop logistics and warehouse staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
(7) Others
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Working Experience: 5–7 years of experience in logistics / warehouse / supply chain, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role (manufacturing or automotive preferred).
- Strong knowledge of transportation, warehouse operations, inventory management, and customs procedures.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP / Oracle).
- Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel & PowerPoint).
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage to facilitate effective communication with stakeholders from China.
